NEWEST MEMBERS TO THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS
ELECTED TO SERVE A FOUR YEAR TERM FROM
JANUARY 1, 2012 TO DECEMBER 31, 2015
SHERRY YOUNG
Sherry is from the Ogden area and has been a member of the Marketing
Committee for the past 4 months. She is an active League and Tournament
player and tennis has been a big part of her entire family lives. The family
owned Company "Young Auto Group" previously supported and sponsored
the Utah State Open for over 6 years. Sherry has captained numerous teams,
volunteered at the several UTA events and has also recruited and reactivated
players in the Ogden Area. She plays 3.5 and is a member of the Ogden
Athletic Club.
CINDI PEARCE
Cindi is from Provo, Utah and has been a member of the UTA JCC
Committee for the past 4 years and she also served on the National JCC
Committee and is currently a member of the National Sportsmanship
Committee. She has volunteered at numerous junior events and her husband
Brad Pearce is the BYU Varsity Tennis Coach. Tennis has been an activity
the whole family shares and 2 of her children are Nationally Ranked. Their
family was selected as the 2010 Utah Tennis Family of the Year.
ALISSA OWEN
Alissa is from Sandy, Utah and will be one of the members of the newly
established Junior Recreation Committee. Her oldest son is currently
ranked #1 in the 10’s division. She has been instrumental in organizing play
days at Liberty Park to bring some of the competitive junior together to
practice and play. Alissa is a part-time practicing attorney with both a law
and engineering degree. She enjoys playing tennis and competes at the 3.0
level. Her husband Brandon played Varsity Tennis for the U of U and
currently competes at the 5.0 level and is also an attorney. Both Alissa and
her husband have volunteered their time to provide additional tennis
opportunities to children of all ages and backgrounds.
