Hilary Doyle Sportsmanship Nominees for 2011

SPORTS ACADEMY JUNIOR OPENER - MATTHEW KIDMAN
He played in the 16's and 18's and was having fun the whole tournament in both victory and defeat.  He is a hard worker who showed his love for tennis by the number of hours he spent on the court at the tournament.

DANNY SPERRY JUNIOR MEMORIAL - BEN SPENCER
He displayed a tremendous will to win while defeating some of the best players in the draw.  He shows real respect for his opponents and is extra fair on line calls.  He reached the finals and showed excellent sportsmanship throughout the tournament while in the heat of the battle, a commendable trait.

GREEN VALLEY JUNIOR CLASSIC - CYDNEE WILKINSON
Cydnee welcomed a new player as a partner.  She was very polite, supportive and
encouraging to her new partner.

DESIREE & TRAVIS BASTIAN MEMORIAL JUNIOR TOURNAMENT - SAM ROBERTS
Sam was told a time to show up for a back draw match.  The match ended up becoming a bye.  He showed up for that match and said that it was no problem.  Even though he had to travel quite a distance to get to the tournament.  He showed up for his next match and that player did a Retirement (ill).  He again said no problem and came back for the next round where he lost.  He came up to the tournament desk and said (thank you, I had a great tournament".  He displayed great manners during the tournament.
 
SPRING DUEL IN THE DESERT - BRADEN EVANS
Braden is fairly new to the tournament scene, but conducted himself in a very professional way for a  14 year old boy.  He took his matches seriously, treated his opponents with respect, and represented
the game well.  Well deserving of the award.
 
2011 CHASEBROOK HARRY JAMES MEMORIAL JUNIOR ICE BREAKER - SYDNEY MONSON
Sydney had a great attitude throughout the tournament, even though three of her matches were
cancelled with her opponents doing walkovers.
 
GREEN VALLEY JUNIOR SPRING CHAMPIONSHIPS - AMANDA LINDSEY
Amanda always displayed calmness in times of stress.  She was polite to opponents even if
questionable calls or potentially confrontational issues occurred.  She showed respect
andfriendliness to all of her opponents.
 
SALT LAKE TENNIS CLUB JUNIOR SINGLES TOURNAMENT - HARDY OWEN
Hardy was positive on the court and nice to all of his opponents.  We liked that he thanked the
tournament desk and his coach Jane.
 
COACH MIKE'S JUNIOR TOURNAMENT - KATIE KING
Katie was very patient and very, very fair.  She was also nice to everyone
 
EAGLERIDGE JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS - KAYLEE ODOM
Kaylee always had a smile on her face.  When she was losing she was having fun and complimenting her opponents.  She had a great experience without winning.
 
PROVO SUMMER SMASH - MASON BROCKBANK
Mason was always willing to compliment his opponent when he made a good shot.

SPORT COURT TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS - MELISSA LOW
Melissa was very patient and nice to 27 8 & Under Division tournament players who very excitedly ran onto the court next to her to start their matches.

SUMMER CHALLENGE - CONOLLY MAREN
Conolly played a very long 3 set match and really enjoyed all the points even when she didn't win the point.  She also complimented her opponent on several occasions for a great drop shot or whatever the scenario.  Both girl's were great sports and it was wonderful that the loser of the match had such a great smile on her face after it was over.

OGDEN JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS - CHRISTOPHER DOUGLAS

Christopher and his family were very understanding and behaved nicely in a scheduling situation.
 

COTTONWOOD CLUB SUMMER CHALLENGER - KYLIE SCHWALBE
Kylie was polite and she played hard in all of her matches and was kind to the other players.
 
IVORY HOMES UTAH STATE OPEN - AZAT HANKULIYEV
Azat was always in control of his emotions while on the court.  He hit with other players to warm them up for their matches.
 
FALL BLOOMINGTON DUEL IN THE DESERT - ZEKE RICHARDS
He has played in the Fall Bloomington Duel in the Desert for many years and has always been a good sport.  In this tournament he deserves the award because he played fair and played his heart out.  He had a long singles final and still came back to play the doubles final.  He competed very well and had a lot of success.
 
Liberty Park Jr Fall Championships - ANALISA NIELSON
She always had a smile on her face, even when she was playing on the court.  She had a positive attitude.

MONSTER MASH JUNIOR'S TENNIS BASH - COLIN HOLYOAK
Colin was very polite and cordial to everyone at the tournament.  He had a good attitude.  He kept his head and competed hard during a match with a tough opponent.
 
DAVID L. FREED MEMORIAL JUNIOR TOURNAMENT - TAYLOR CALTON
Taylor has worked very hard and she is always at tennis events giving it her all and then some!  She never gives anybody any trouble and is very good at "letting her racquet do the talking". 
 

GREEN VALLEY FALL JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS - ISAAC SMITH
Isaac had a friendly attitude towards other players and tournament directors.  He also displayed fair
playand line calls during competition.

SPORTS ACADEMY TURKEY WEEKENDER - HAILEY DANIELS
Hailey had an extremely positive attitude and excellent work ethic throughout the tournament.  Her on and off court demeanor are going to be very helpful and influential factors in all her future success as a tennis player.
 
THANKSGIVING CHALLENGER - NICOLAS LOYOLA
Nicolas had a great attitude on and off the court.  He showed respect for his opponents,
and everyone else at the tournament.

SAINT GEORGE JUNIOR HOLIDAY SHOOT OUT - MCKELLE SANDERS
Mckelle had a great attitude about the weather delay and showed good sportsmanship to her opponents and peers.  She was very polite and kind to everyone.
 
IVORY RIDGE JUNIOR HOLIDAY TOURNAMENT - JJ BITTON
JJ was happy to accommodate the tournament director when her matches had to be re-scheduled.  She was happy to play whenever she needed to.
