2009 Adult Tournament Point Challenge

How to Earn Points

Players earn points by participating in the eight selected USTA/Utah Tennis-sanctioned tournaments. Four tournaments are designated as " Grand Slam" (GS) events and (4) are designated as "Grand Prix" (GP) events. Points are awarded in tournaments with consolation; however, points possible will be one-half (1/2) of that awarded in the main draw. For more details, please review the Adult Point Challenge Rules and Regulations. These points are independent of, and have NO bearing on, tournament seeding!

Players earn points as follows:

Grand Slam (GS) Events

• 150 Points - Entering & plays 1st Rd match

• 60 points - Each match player wins (wins by default  included)

• 75 bonus points - awarded to the tournament finalist

• 150 bonus points - awarded to the tournament winner

Grand Prix (GP) Events

• 100 Points - Entering & plays 1st Rd match

• 40 points - Each match player wins (wins by default  included)

• 50 bonus points - awarded to the tournament finalist

• 100 bonus points - awarded to the tournament winner

• Park City Labor Day Weekend (GP)

• The Point After Adult Singles and Doubles (GS)

Updating Your Membership Information

Contact information must be updated through USTA either by calling 1-800-990-USTA (8782) (found on the back of your USTA card) or sending an email to USTA Member Services to get it in the system. Data entered in a tournament stays in that tournament and doesn't update the USTA database, nor does it transfer to the next tournament. When entering/updating, please remember to enter a valid weekend-friendly phone number (preferably cell instead of office), so we can contact you should the need arise. If we cannot contact you, and you don't show for your match, you will be defaulted.
