RESCHEDULING POLICY FOR TOURNAMENT MATCHES

During past tournaments, there have been too many requests for matches to be rescheduled. This causes numerous problems and concerns for Utah Tennis, the Sites hosting the event, the generous sponsors and all players involved. These courts have been reserved and blocked for the purpose of playing tournament matches at that site and at the time assigned. Often scores are reported incorrectly or not reported until much later. We understand rescheduling if the draw has you playing matches at the same time in the later rounds. This is often unavoidable with close to 400 players in one tournament;  many of whom are playing in more than one division. Those players playing in more than one division, might have to play two matches on the same day; this is not uncommon. The following is the official Rescheduling Policy as stated in the paper entry form:

There will be no rescheduling of any sanctioned matches except in extreme circumstances beyond the control of the players and then only with prior approval of the tournament director. Players rescheduling without permission are subject to DEFAULT.  All costs of rescheduling (including but not limited to):

•court costs and any accompanying guest fees
•balls
•officials
are the responsibility of the initiator, and will not be covered by the tournament.

FINALS MAY NOT BE RESCHEDULED

The dates of the tournament are listed on all entry forms and online. Please plan accordingly so that you are available to play any/all of those days. This will help make the tournament run smoothly, will not hinder the flow of the tournament and make it enjoyable for all players involved. If you are aware of a scheduling conflict prior to the start of the tournament, please contact Utah Tennis and we will try to accomodate that request if possible before draws are posted on the internet. Once draws are posted, it is impossible to schedule around a conflict because a) the outcome is not yet known, and b) the impact it could have on other matches.

Thank you for your cooperation by respecting the rules of tennis and see you at the next tournament!
