Comment II.A-5:
...the Tournament Committee shall consider all information reasonably available to it (and not just the current rankings or standings) in determining the seeds. The Tournament Committee should not rely solely on the auto-seed function in TDM. This function is best used when it serves as a starting point for discussions about seeding. USTA Regulations do not permit a Sectional Association, District Association, or Tournament Committee to seed a tournament using only a computer-generated means such as a standing list or ranking list.

enter a tournament
(including mandatory consolation)
knowing the player will be unable to finish."
Tournaments don't run themselves; they are run by volunteers giving a couple of hours of their time during the course of the tournament. As a tournament player, or the parent of one, you know how much you value a well-run desk. If you or your child have the time to enter the tournament, please consider also giving a couple of volunteer hours to help. Thank you!

Getting Started in Junior USTA Utah Sanctioned Tournaments
There are two different skill levels for players ages 8-18: Open and Challenger.
CHALLENGER DEFINITION: A challenger player is a junior who is not ranked and has not won an open tournament in their current age division. A junior may continue to participate in a challenger event, in their age appropriate division, until they have won no more than two (2) tournaments. After two (2) tournament wins, a junior is no longer eligible for a challenger event until they age up. A player may not play out of his/her age division in a challenger event until the month in which the junior ages up.

An exceptional player is a player listed as top 100 in the lower age division based on the most current NATIONAL standings list. This exceptional player will be CONSIDERED for seeding. |
