NTRP Year End Ratings:
Commonly Asked Questions
Q. How do I find my year-end rating? A. Search using the “Find NTRP Rating Info” box on TennisLink (https://tennislink.usta.com/Leagues/Common/Home.aspx).
Q. How do I appeal my year-end rating? A. Follow these steps: 1. Login to TennisLink. 2. Click on the USTA League tab. 3. Click on the “Appeal Rating” link to the right of your name. 4. Select the appropriate option for appealing up or down. The player will receive an instant decision based on the National criteria and guidelines. NOTE: Granted appeals cannot be reversed, so do not submit an appeal unless you are sure you want to appeal.
Q. What other options do I have if my appeal was denied? A. If appeal UP is denied, there is no further appeal that exists and no possible way to change your rating for the upcoming season. Medical appeals CANNOT be filed to move UP. You are allowed to play up .5 level ( i.e. a 3.5 can play in a 4.0 league) but absolutely no other means exists to appeal your rating up to a higher level. If appeal DOWN is denied, the only other possible appeal is a medical appeal. Please note: medical appeals to move to a lower NTRP level will only be reviewed for permanently disabling injuries or illnesses that did not exist while you were playing matches that were used to calculate your year-end rating. Both forms must be completed.
Q. How many times can I try to appeal my rating through Tennislink? A. Once. If your appeal is denied trying again a few days or even months later won’t change anything. When year end ratings come out again in December of 2026 you may appeal that rating through tennislink at that time.
Q. Tennisrecord says… A. Tennisrecord uses a completely different algorithm and their ratings DO NOT match NTRP ratings. They provide these inaccurate ratings simply for advertising revenue based on traffic to their website (i.e., making money with incorrect numbers). Information displayed on tennisrecord is not accepted by USTA as the basis for any discussion about your rating.
