Junior Leadership Committee
Our Junior Leadership Committee gives tennis players, age 14-18,
an opportunity to develop their leadership skills and contribute to our tennis community.
Players of all ability levels encouraged to apply.
We will plan and execute one community event during the 6 month session and read one book on leadership as a cohort.
Committee members will give input on upcoming tournaments and summer competition.
This is a 6 month commitment for committee members starting in May and ending in October. Meetings will be the last Thursday of the month at 5:00-6:30 pm. Location: Liberty Park and Utah Tennis Office.
Sept: TDB (School is in session)
October: TBD (School is in Session)
Our Junior Leadership Committee empowers and engages
junior players in decision-making processes that impact their tennis experience. This committee provides a platform
for players to share their ideas, perspectives, and experiences
while developing their leadership skills, fostering social connections, and building confidence.
Through their participation players can become effective advocates for their peers, helping to shape policies and initiatives that promote equity, diversity and inclusivity.
If interested please have the player submit an application answering the following questions in 2-3 paragraphs per prompt.
Players are welcome to write or submit a video answering the following prompts.
- What qualities make a strong leader? Give an example of a leader you admire.
- What do you love about the tennis community? What is something you would like to see change in the tennis community?
- What do you hope to gain by participating in our leadership committee?
